About the Critical Eye
Its purpose in life
The Critical Eye was conceived as a showcase for my writing. Not all of it—there's far too much—but a good selection of the reviews I've written and interviews I've conducted since 1991.

Much of the site is made up of articles originally written for publications like Computer Paper, Parsec, January Magazine, and my animation magazine fps. You'll also find the original interviews that supported articles I've written, as well as unpublished articles and items written expressly for the Critical Eye.

There are some articles I can't reprint here because I don't have the rights to them. If you're curious about those, there are links to them in my bibliography.

Because I'm often asked about where to get the items I write about, there are links to websites where you can buy almost everything mentioned here. The majority of the links point to Amazon.com, but there are a handful of other retailers' links as well.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy your visit. Feel free to explore and poke around; there's a wide variety of subjects, and you never know what you'll come across here!
